What is the Prescription To Get Active program?

This is an exciting program developed by family doctors to help encourage people who are not getting enough exercise to become more active. Family doctors and other health care providers who are part of the Peaks to Prairies Primary Care Networks first identify patients who could benefit from more exercise. Then they fill out a special prescription that provides details on how their patients can act on that recommendation. You can choose whatever type of physical activity that suits you. To help provide even more options, 7 local recreational and wellness facilities have joined with the Peaks to Prairies Primary Care Network and will recognize and support these unique prescriptions. Click the logo below for more information on the Prescription to Get Active program.

Our Patients Tell Us…

Here is Susan's Story - "The tools shown to me by the programs offered have helped me move forward in a positive way. Social work gets you through the red tape and the awesome support they provide. I have also needed help with Mental Health. Truly grateful for these programs. I don't know where I would be now. I do wish for people to get the help they need and not feel bad for asking. (Nothing wrong with reaching out). My Story started in 2017, My doctor was a connecting factor to get me the overall help, mentally and physically. I call this team work. Caring and using all tools to help the client. Thank you to my Team - Dr. Somerville, Tracy (Social Worker), Lisa (Mental Health) and many numerous specialists."
